Here we go, the playoffs are already underway with a total of 6 games last weekend and 4 coming up this weekend with the 13-3 Green Bay Packers hosting the 10-6 L.A. Rams being the first game of the weekend followed by the 12-4 New Orleans Saints vs. 11-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a battle of the AARP quarterbacks. As for the AFC games slated for this weekend, the 13-3 Buffalo Bills will be playing the 11-5 Baltimore Ravens in Buffalo's igloo of a stadium and lastly, the beloved by all, trusted by none, 11-5 Cleveland Browns will be traveling to Super Bowl Champions 14-2 Kansas City Chiefs Arrowhead stadium that normally would be packed and extremely loud but this season will be empty and quiet and maybe giving an advantage to the Browns, but ugh that will have to wait until tomorrow's AFC preview (shameless plug).
Green Bay Packers vs. L.A. Rams:
The Packers look like the absolute favorite for going to the big dance this year to represent the NFC, Rodgers will be named MVP soon, Adams is defiantly the best receiver in the game today, Aaron Jones is killing it rushing the rock, and the defense is playing at an elite level right now. How do you stop the Packers, you don't, and I know I know, "what about Jalen Ramsey?" Well, Jalen is amazing, he's a FSU cornerback and we know how those play from FSU, just ask Deion Sanders how they play, he will tell you seeing he is the G.O.A.T. of FSU cornerbacks. Soo, even if Ramsey shuts down Adams the entire game no catches no targets nothing, the Pack has a very special and "smart" trick, and the "smart trick" is receiver Allen Lazard. Lazard was titled the smartest "football smart" player on the Packers currently, according the great Aaron Rodgers, he may not be known as he best receiver on the Packers but this weekend he will make his mark, he will be in the right spots, he will make the right decisions, he will be reliable and Rodgers is going to need it. The Rams pass rush and run stuffing is held down by their once in a life time type of talent Aaron Donald, the beast man. Donald per normal had another dominate season and the craziest thing about it is that his stats never ever show how great he is. He is always double teamed, chip blocked, held, and even tackled yet there he is making plays all day, crushing quarterbacks, but this coming week, that may not happen. Late in last weekend's game Donald suffered the rib injury and the pain he was in was noticeable on camera. Donald went into the locker room and did return but he couldn't even join his team when they scored and ultimately won their game, his ribs hurt far too bad, yet now he is fine according the the Rams orginization. I highly doubt Donald is fully healthy, in fact I promise he isn't and if he isn't then the Rams are done. The Rams star and starting quarterback Jared Goff just had surgery on his thumb on his throwing hand just last week, and don't get me started on their back up situation because its not worth the time, they are done. No quarterback, no running back, no receivers, just half an Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey will not be able to overcome the Packers stellar offense and stiff defense. If you are picking a winner, pick my pick, pick Green Bay.
New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
This should be a game for the ages, two legend quarterbacks at the tail end of their careers, both Super Bowl champions, both Hall of Famers, but it won't be. The Buc's have Brady, but most importantly they have Godwin, Evans, Gronk, Fournette, but most importantly Antonio Brown. Don't forget people that prior to A.B's whole issues leaving the Steelers and going to Oakland situation, Brown was being spoken of as the next great receiver, like they were calling him the next Jerry Rice, he was a beast. A.B. has gotten the raw end of this whole deal man, he clearly has issues still from the Berfict hit years ago, who dyes their mustache platinum blonde? No one does that, and the saga didn't stop there, it stopped with A.B being cut from the Patriots and having to wait until half of the 2020 season to be over before he could get back to it. This weekend is the weekend of A.B. and his come back and and with all of the weapons they have in Tampa its hard to pick against them. The Saints are a powerhouse, we all know that, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and Drew Brees are great and have been competing at the highest levels for a few years now, but Thomas scored his 1st TD of the season last week in the playoffs, really? Going into the season Thomas was known as the best receiver in the NFL, and that may have gotten to his head, that and his big money contract, because he had a horrible season, so much that he became a problem in the locker room and most likely will have a new home next season. Brees is clearly hurt, clearly old, and clearly retiring after this season, actually this will be his last game and damn I hate to see it. What he did for the city of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina was and always will be amazing and Drew deserves to go out as a champion, go out on top with the whole song and dance crap, but he won't get it, he will get getting a good old fashion butt kicking, Tampa style. If you're picking a winner, pick my pick, pick Tampa Bay.
