Today is Tuesday, January 26th, 2021, and today is a of remembrance and gratefulness throughout the sports world and more, today is the one year anniversary of the death of Kobe Bryant. Kobe was bigger than life, I remember when he was drafted out of high school he had to have his parents sign his first NBA contract with him because Kobe was only 17 years old at the time, 17 and ballin' with the best of them and able to compete then. Watching Kobe was like watching Michael Jordan 2.0 at times, from the wrist bands to the calf sleeve, and of course the fade away jumper, yet Kobe was still able to show that he wasn't MJ, he was Kobe Bryant. Kobe ended up winning 5 NBA Finals Championships and cementing himself as one of the all time great NBA players to ever do it. Man, this was one the defiantly went too soon, Kobe, to me, made more of an impact on my life with his words, his YouTube videos about motivation, never quitting, and working harder than everyone else. We, the human race, are going to end up missing out on the best of what Kobe had to provide now that he is gone, we will not be able to see what Kobe was going to do with his production company, with his family, and lord only knows the greatness he could have come up with. Thank you for the videos Kobe, they did more for me than you or anyone else will ever know. In other news around the sports world, news coming out of Detroit, Michigan that Matthew Stafford has now officially asked the Lions for a trade for the 2021 NFL season, adding yet another name to add to the exodus of quarterbacks in the NFL. Wow, what are the Lions doing, Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and now Matthew Stafford all doing whatever it takes to get out of dodge, will the Lions ever get it together and win some games, get to the playoffs, not squander top, potential Hall of Fame caliber players anymore?
