Today is Friday, January 29th, 2021, and we are at the end of the week people, well, the work week for most at least, which means we have the Pro Bowl to look forward to, not good. Not too much going on in the NFL this weekend, other than the song and dance segments they have slated for the next week just about and news about players who already done with their seasons. Today we have an update on two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback "Big" Ben Roethlisberger and his plans for the 2021 season, after leading the Steelers to an eleven game winning streak this season to ultimately struggle at the end of the season and be knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. Big Ben stated that he plans to and wants to return for the 2021 season and remain in the Steel City, the news about this is that he also stated that he is willing to renegotiate his contract and take more of a home town deal to help free up cap space so the Steelers can put more talent around him now. Looks to me that Big Ben is making one last attempt to retire from the NFL on the highest of high roads there is, but this is a very sacred territory he is embarking upon, and one must really question if Big Ben is worthy of the ultimate champions farewell. Roethlisberger wants the Steelers to get whatever players they feel like they need to win a Super Bowl in 2021, maybe taking a page from the Tampa Bay Bucs methods of getting Brady and friends to allow them to be playing next weekend for the franchises 2nd Super Bowl. Not many players have been able to do this, not many have been worthy of this honor, recently we have had Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning, there have been other as well, but Big Ben played against both of these players quite a bit during his career and these men were able to walk away on top, no now questions if they were worthy, but will they question Big Ben? I say no, they shouldn't question him, if he is able to essentially call his shot and win next years Super Bowl then he well enough deserves it, it will be his 3rd Super Bowl ring all with the Steelers, and would certify sure up his gold jacket and bust in Canton in the Hall of Fame, maybe not first ballot, but he is a sure thing with 3 rings.
