Today is Thursday, February 4th, 2021, and on the agenda for today is the man, the myth, and the college football legend, Johnny "Football" Manziel and his where abouts these days. Gosh, I remember when Johnny Football made his debut on College Game Day on a hot summer day, I remember sitting on my coach with the old cat and being absolutely amazed by what I was seeing, and I had not seen anything like what he did that day and that season since Michael Vick, unreal. This is was a freshman out there making some of the craziest plays I have ever seen, bouncing off defenders, running back and forth behind the line of scrimmage, and some how finding Mike Evans and others for some hot dots. Johnny Football took the entire country by storm, he was all over the sports stations on T.V, he was all over the internet, and he was all over the night scene as well sadly. This kid won the Heishman man, he was dominating college football and moving up spots on most teams drafts boards, they even had a story about Johnny Football seeing a kitten in the middle of a 4 lane highway and dropping his back pack and running, dodging the on coming traffic, and saving the kitten, and himself in the process, the legend began to grow. As we all know Manziel was drafted by the Cleveland Browns eventually and that's when he began having more headlines about his night life affairs than his on the field successes, and believe me, he did not give them much to report about on his on field success. Manziel did not make the transition into the NFL well at all, even though he was drafted by the Browns, a few years before they are who they are now, he still did not see the game like a quarterback needs to, it was too fast for him, maybe to complex too, who knows. Last I knew Manziel played in Canada a couple of seasons ago, was victim of proposed 2nd professional football league that never made it to actually having a game, and I didn't see him take advantage of the short but successful XFL season. In fact, Manziel is now working on his game, practicing daily from what reports say and improving tremendously, however it is not football he is playing now, its golf and Johnny Football has game too. From what people say when talking about Manziel, Johnny Football is a scratch or better, a plus, handicap golfer and he isn't playing your normal local town course, he is playing real deal golf courses, and craving them up, I love it. Manziel stated that he is going to attempt to see how good his golf game an get in the next few years and maybe, maybe take a shot a making the PGA Tour, and you know, as long as this kid stays away from the night clubs and stays at the golf club he may just be able to do it, and what a great story that will be.
